The Cycle 1 children have been looking at self - portraits through paintings of famous artists and photography that is displayed In our ‘gallery corner’ in the room. Children noticed that people from all over the world share many similarities. They were particularly interested in exploring the facial traits such as the eyes, eyebrows, eyelashes, nose, lips, ears, hair etc. of people from varying cultural backgrounds. The children also had lots of fun making detailed observations about themselves and their peers. Equipped with a mirror, paper and crayons they then drew self- portraits, emulating the works of some of the greatest artists of our time!
