The primary school musical, titled "Once Upon at Time - A Fairy Tale Gone Wrong!" was a great success last night! The children were beyond excited and thrilled to perform for the audience. Every child was involved and had a part to play in this tale of nursery rhyme characters under threat by Captain Boredom who threatens to put an end to storytelling.
Coordinating a production like this with many young children requires a lot of commitment and hard work by the children. We’re very proud of what they’ve achieved and the confidence each child demonstrated. Giving every single child a part to play and the chance to perform was our goal from the start. There were a few lead roles but I think everyone would agree that every child shone on night. It’s been a real growth experience for the children and they’ve discovered new abilities within themselves.
Making this possible was a talented team of staff and helpers. Teacher Helen Greenwood did an amazing job orchestrating the whole production. It took many weeks of work and planning and we congratulate and thank her. Phil Macken spent many hours creating all the backdrops and props, and a special thanks goes to Jessica Schebesta (Cooinda parent) for all her help with the choreography. Thank you to all the staff and parent volunteers who also contributed in different ways.
