It’s been a long term at 11 weeks but boy has it gone fast! The children have all had a great start to the school year and they’re ready for some down time. The many new children who joined the school this year have quickly become part of the community and embraced the school.
During the holidays try and make plenty of time for unstructured play and relaxation. If your child ever says “I’m bored” fear not! See it as a positive opportunity. Sometimes children say they’re bored because they need direction or activity ideas and sometimes, it’s a child’s way of telling a parent they need some attention or perhaps they want a parent to sit on the floor and play with them.
Quiet, reflective time is just as important as purposeful activity. Children often have so much extracurricular activity during term time that we need to give space to every child’s playful nature to be given free reign to emerge.
We hope you can take advantage of the Easter and Anzac public holidays this year which conveniently fall in the school holidays. I’d encourage you to plan a nature activity — go for a bushwalk, pack a picnic and head to a national park or simply spend time at one of our local parklands. It will benefit the whole family.
Wishing everyone a Happy Easter or Passover and see you on Tuesday 29 April.
