One of the most common questions we get asked is about the transition into mainstream high school after Montessori. To help answer this we have an annual parent evening were we invite back a panel of students and parents to share their experience.  It's clear from the feedback we gather that the children adapt just fine and go on to do very well.  This year's event was extremely popular.

New Initiative for Final Year Students

New Initiative for Final Year Students

We've just announced an exciting new initiative for our graduating students (year 6) that will commence this year.  

Called the Journey of Service Project it has been established by Montessori East as an opportunity for students in their last year of primary school to make a significant and real connection to the world they have been learning about.

Choosing to go to Vietnam to help an orphanage over having a Bar Mitzvah party was the inspiring choice that ex-Montessori East student Ellis Silove made last year.  He came back to ME this week to share his experience with some of the primary school children.

"Once Upon a Time ........" A musical!

What happens when a fairy tale goes wrong?  This was the story of the musical production performed by the primary school children on Thursday 20th June.   The 'actors' ranged in age from barely 6 to 12 years and they brought the house down!

Maths: Binomial Cube explained

The Binomial Cube is one of those amazing Montessori materials! It introduces abstract maths concept to children as young as 4 without them even knowing it! The material provides the all important bridge between concrete and abstract thinking.  And not so amazingly (because it’s logical) the child develops a much deeper understanding of the maths.
